Family Dentistry

Take care of your teeth, and they will take care of you! Dr. Ki focuses on oral care for all ages, from little ones just sprouting their first molars to seniors looking to keep their smiles bright and beautiful. We offer a relaxed, stress-free experience that’s all about your comfort.

For new patients, we start off with an initial consultation. Dr. Ki will take a close look at your medical and dental history, talk to you about your concerns, do a comprehensive exam, and establish a treatment plan that will meet all your needs.

Children’s dentistry

There’s nothing more important to lifelong oral health than teaching kids to take care of their teeth from a very young age – and part of that is making a trip to the dentist a fun, positive experience. Our caring, easygoing team will teach your children how to practice good oral hygiene, allow them to watch videos before and during their treatment, and, of course, let them choose a prize from the toy chest at the end of their visit.

Dentistry for seniors

Keep your smile bright and beautiful at every stage of your life. Whether you’re looking for general care, cosmetic services, or full or partial dentures, Dr. Ki and his team have the expertise to give you a healthy smile that lasts.

Emergencies

If you have a dental emergency, please call us immediately. We will do our best to accommodate your needs on a same-day basis. If you’re experiencing pain after-hours or on the weekend, simply call our office, and the message will direct you to an emergency service.

Periodontal therapy (treatment for gum disease)

If your gums are red and swollen, bleed when you brush, or are pulling away from the teeth, you could have gum disease (gingivitis). Untreated, it can turn into periodontitis, or infected gums, which can lead to bone and tooth loss, and even affect your overall health (it’s been linked to diabetes, heart disease and stroke.)

At your first appointment, your hygienist will map your gums, and every checkup will include a recheck. If you do have gum disease, we will work with you to get your mouth healthy again. Our therapy emphasizes non-surgical solutions such as scaling, root planing and antibiotics, and in most cases, surgery can be avoided.

Root canals (endodontic therapy)

This procedure, which involves removing the root of an infected tooth, is used to save the tooth from extraction. State-of-the-art technology and extensive knowledge ensure the procedure is completed quickly with minimum discomfort.

Extractions

We do our best to save your teeth wherever possible. But sometimes, removing them is the best choice – as is often the case with wisdom teeth in a crowded mouth. Should teeth other than wisdom teeth require extraction, we will offer you a variety of options for replacing them for optimal function and aesthetics.

Restoration

Do you have decayed, chipped or fractured teeth? Dr. Ki can restore your smile with natural-looking, tooth-coloured fillings and crowns. Completely non-metallic crowns are available as well.

Oral cancer screening

When oral cancer is caught early, treatment can be highly successful. That’s why it’s important to get checked annually. We use a technology called ViziLite Blue, in conjunction with a head and neck examination, to look for abnormalities that could lead to cancer. The light helps us see any lesions, precancerous or cancerous cells that may be invisible to the eye during a routine exam.
